Richmond Police investigating assault outside Carytown business

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating a reported assault that took place outside of a business in the city's Carytown neighborhood. According to police, at around 2:09 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, officers responded to the 3400 block of West Cary Street for a report of an assault. It was reported that an unknown male was asked to leave a business before he struck a woman, causing injury, and left the area on foot. Police said there is no indication that the suspect knew the victim and that the incident is related to any other incidents at this time.
