30-year-old man found dead with gunshot wound in Fluvanna County

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 30-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound in the Kents Store area of Fluvanna County Sunday evening.

At 6:14 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, deputies with the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office were called to a disturbance at a home in the 3000 block of Kents Store Way in the Kents Store area of Fluvanna County.

When deputies arrived, they found 30-year-old Marcus Allen Vargas, who had died from a gunshot wound.

According to the sheriff's office, 25-year-old Zhamere Llada Ross has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting and is currently in custody for homicide.

"This incident appears to be an isolated incident and there is no continued threat to the community," officials said.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate.
