32 guns, 68 pounds of narcotics and 3 explosive devices recovered by Virginia State Police in recent investigations
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Thirty-two firearms, 68 pounds of narcotics and three explosive devices were recovered by Virginia State Police and supporting agencies through recent investigations in the Commonwealth.
According to Virginia State Police, from Thursday, May 8, through Wednesday, May 14, it worked on investigations throughout the state with supporting local and federal agencies to recover a total of 32 firearms valued at $18,000.
Throughout that time, police said 68 pounds of narcotics were seized, which would have a rough street value of $463,101. These consisted of the following:
- 2.92 pounds of cocaine
- 64 pounds of marijuana
- 0.3 ounces of crack cocaine
- 12 ounces of fentanyl
- 6 ounces of methamphetamine
Also through narcotics investigations, Virginia State Police have reportedly recovered $76,755.
In addition, officials said three explosive devices recovered during investigations were safely neutralized.
Eight gaming-related tips were received, which is part of a total of 1,501 received by Virginia State Police to date.
As part of human trafficking investigations, Virginia State Police have received 35 new human trafficking tips, with 937 total to date.
There were reportedly 205 human trafficking cases investigated or under investigation. In addition, there were reportedly 2,889 "individual investigative activities" and 64 victims identified and offered services.
