8News talks to Virginia Repertory Theater about A Christmas Carol production

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News was joined by two special guests on Thursday to talk about the Virginia Repertory Theater's production of A Christmas Carol.

8News anchor Autumn Childress and reporter Allison Williams were joined by Rick Hammerly, one of the show's directors, and actor Audrey Kate Taylor as they discussed what attendees can expect.

"It's colorful, it's heartfelt, it's got a lot of spectacle and magic, and that's what you want from A Christmas Carol," Hammerly said.

Taylor added a different perspective to the discussion, and discussed what it's like to be a swing -- an understudy actor who has to learn and prepare for multiple roles.

"We've put a lot of hard work into it, and so to see it come to life is just truly magnificent," Taylor said.

The show began its run on Nov. 28 and will be at the theater, located at 114 W. Broad St., until Dec. 28. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking here.
