Brunswick woman seriously hurt after she ran off road, rolled over in ditch

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman was seriously hurt after she ran off the road, hit a sign and rolled over in a ditch in Brunswick County late Tuesday night.

At about 10:22 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, troopers with Virginia State Police were called to the 5900 block of Gasburg Road for report of a single-vehicle crash.

According to state police, 49-year-old Marie E. Moody of Brunswick ran her 1988 Chevrolet Silverado off the road and spun out.

She then struck a VDOT sign and went into a ditch, where the Silverado began to roll over.

Moody was severely hurt in the crash. She was taken via MedFlight to an area hospital for treatment.
