Cheer on River City Half Marathon runners with 8News!

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- With just a little more than a week to wait for the Virginia Credit Union River City Half Marathon & 5K races, 8News wants YOU to celebrate with us!
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, with the half marathon race starting at 8 a.m. and the 5K race beginning at 8:20 a.m.
As this year's media sponsor, 8News will be out in force at the 8-mile mark, near the intersection of Park Drive and Shirley Lane. Anchor Deanna Allbrittin will also serve as the master of ceremonies at the start line on Keller Road within the University of Richmond.

Those who want to share their support at the 8News tent can do so by parking near Spottswood Road and walking to the Mile 8 area. In order to avoid road closures, the course will be easiest to access from Shirley Lane and Trafford Road.
