Henrico invites residents to review plans for Quioccasin Middle School project

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- New plans are underway for the replacement of Quioccasin Middle School in Henrico County after approving funding for the new building three years ago. Now, the county is inviting residents to review the project.

Henrico County Public Schools is hosting a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, in the gymnasium of the existing school building, located at 9400 Quioccasin Road.

According to the school division, representatives from the design team and the school district will provide a project overview and answer questions regarding the project.

The planned replacement is set to include construction of a new three-story building in the back of the current campus and demolition of the existing 1971 building to provide room to relocate athletic fields.

8News previously reported that the project comes with an estimated cost of $89 million and is funded by the county’s 2022 bond referendum, which allocated over $514 million for various projects across the area.
