Henrico Police unveils new way to report many kinds of crime

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has launched a new online system for residents to report a wide variety of crimes. On Thursday, Jan. 16, the agency announced this new system, which it called the Duty Officer Reporting System (DORS). According to the police department, this is a new way for citizens to file police reports for certain incidents online. The types of incidents that can be reported on DORS include: Annoying phone calls/texts/emails Auto tampering Identity theft Check fraud Larceny (under $15,000) Credit card fraud Lost property Embezzlement Suspicious situations Vandalism (not graffiti) Fraud You should not use the DORS system if the crime is an emergency. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911. Additionally, you should report vehicle, license plate and firearm thefts to the agency's non-emergency number, which is 804-501-5000.
