‘I heard it all’: Henrico neighbor recounts double shooting
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Henrico County neighborhood is in shock after a double shooting Thursday evening sent two people to the hospital and left residents shaken -- including one man whose home was pierced by gunfire.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 along Edgewood Avenue. Doorbell camera footage captured the sounds of rapid gunfire echoing through the neighborhood.
It also captured the sight of what appears to be the gunman and their two victims running down the street.

"I didn’t see any of it, but I heard it all," said Dwayne Gardner, a longtime resident who lives near the scene.
Gardner said he rushed outside moments later and saw "two kids" with from gunshot wounds. He said he recognized one of them immediately.
"One of them got grazed in the neck, and he wanted to use my phone to call his mother," Gardner said. "One of the kids that got shot actually used to ride my school bus."
Gardner said he’s lived in the neighborhood for 26 years and has never seen anything like this.
"I’m not too much worried about it happening again," he said. "I’m just disappointed that it happened at all."
Gardner’s home also took damage during the gunfire. He said bullets hit his house, including one that went through the roof and landed on his kitchen cabinet.
"See where it went in -- and it came out here," he said, pointing out a bullet hole on the side of his home.

Police have not released details about the victims or what led to the shooting -- but Gardner believes it may have stemmed from some sort of altercation.
"I just felt like they were expecting it -- for the length of time that they were on my corner," he said. "They were expecting something to happen."
Henrico Police said both victims had non-life-threatening injuries and they are expected to recover. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Henrico County Police Division.
