King George man facing several charges after highway shooting in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A King George County man has been hit with several charges, including attempted murder, after a Monday afternoon shooting in Orange County.
On the afternoon of Monday, May 19, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Germanna Highway near Goodwin Drive after multiple 911 callers reported a shooting.
An unidentified victim was found in the intersection of those two roadways with life-threatening injuries.
A patrol deputy who was on Germanna Highway when the shooting reports came in reportedly saw a suspect vehicle moving at a high rate of speed. According to authorities, the deputy pulled that vehicle over and took 30-year-old Tyler James Magill of King George County into custody.

"This event underscores the exceptional teamwork and professionalism of our local first responders, who consistently demonstrate their ability to respond as a unified force and uphold accountability," the sheriff's office said.
Magill faces a total of eight charges, including:
- One count of attempted second-degree murder
- One count of aggravated malicious wounding
- Five counts of maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle
- One count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony
He is currently being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail pending his court appearance.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family during this difficult time," the sheriff's office said.
