Learn how to make zines at Library of Virginia workshop
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to try your hand at a new craft? The Library of Virginia will host a workshop on Saturday where attendees will learn to make zines, or a small handmade booklet. The workshop will be held in the Library of Virginia's Conference Room A from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, and will celebrate the theme, "The Art of Self: Expression in the Archives." Delanie Utterback, an artist and visual arts teacher at the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies, will show techniques to make collages and lead attendees through the creation of zines using reproductions of archival materials. Participants will leave with their own zine. Limited free parking is available underneath the Library at 800 East Broad Street, according to organizers.
