Are you knowledgeable about black bears? Join the Dan River Basin Association and Master Naturalists to learn everything you need to know! The Living with Black Bears program educates communities on safely coexisting with black bears. This program teaches you all about bears, bear behavior, safety tips, and preventative measures to reduce human-bear conflicts. This program promotes practices like securing food and garbage and avoiding attractants. This program is sponsored by the Department of Wildlife Resources and is meant for ages 8 and up, families are welcome. Registration is required. Call (434) 799-5150.
