Make greeting cards using plant dye at Powhatan State Park
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to learn a new craft? Rangers at Powhatan State Park will lead a workshop on Saturday where attendees will learn to make greeting cards using dye from Virginia's native plants. From 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the park, attendees will learn how to process native plants into natural dyes. Using the dyes as watercolors, visitors will decorate greeting cards or postcards to share with others or keep for yourself. Attendees should wear painting clothes they don't mind getting stained or bring an apron. Rangers will provide disposable gloves. Registration is required, as supplies are limited.
