A Second crash east of fatal Sussex crash has occurred on Mahone Highway

SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer and a train in Sussex County.

According to VSP, the crash occurred on the railroad crossing of General Mahone Highway and Walnut Hill Road at around 2:45 p.m.

This crash is east of a fatal crash that occurred just over an hour ago on Sunday, Aug. 17, on General Mahone Highway in Sussex.

Route 460 still remains shutdown at this time with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews aiding with detour efforts, according to police.

Any injuries involving this crash are unknown at this time.
