Nearly half a million in cash seized by Virginia State Police during July investigations

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) recovered almost a half a million in cash during ongoing statewide investigations throughout July.
The operations took place in partnership with several supporting federal and local agencies from July 15 to July 23, resulting in state police seizing $498,610 in cash alongside 66.4 pounds of narcotics.
A breakdown of the recovered narcotics includes:
- 2.7 ounces of cocaine
- Five pounds of methamphetamine
- 61.3 pounds of marijuana
- 0.4 ounces of fentanyl
- 544 fentanyl pills
Additionally, 92 firearms were recovered at a value of $57,500, according to state police.
In other operations, state police recovered 14 stolen vehicles and two explosive devices.
Officials said that there are 209 cases that were either investigated or are currently under investigation by state police, as well as 3,082 individual investigative activities happening as of the time of reporting.
