Petersburg man arrested for possession of concealed weapon and reckless driving

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- On Saturday May 24, Petersburg Police arrested Justin Isiah Alexander, of Petersburg for possession of a concealed weapon.

At around 9:50 a.m., during a traffic stop Petersburg police said that Alexander was found to be in possession of a concealed weapon.

The Petersburg man was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon and reckless driving. According to police he was held pending his appearance in court.

According to a Facebook post, Petersburg Police are conducting an operation titled Operation Safe Streets, which is their ongoing pursuit to maintain community safety and alleviate crime related concerns.

This comes after the Petersburg Bureau of Police said they are committed to "Removing illegally possessed firearms, apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants and those who commit offenses from our community streets."
