PHOTOS: Chesterfield firefighters battle over 10-acre brush fire for hours

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County firefighters spent hours battling a more than 10-acre brush fire Friday afternoon.

At about 3:47 p.m. on Friday, March 6, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 11300 block of Trents Bridge Road for report of a brush fire.

The scene was difficult to access, with photos shared by officials showing smoke rising from a densely-wooded area.

Multiple brush and tanker trucks -- as well as a Virginia Department of Forestry bulldozer -- were called in to assist.

Additionally, the department's drone team helped determine how big the fire was and monitored for hot spots from the air.

Firefighters spent about three hours battling this brush fire.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, between 10 and 15 acres of land were burned.

No homes or buildings were threatened by the flames, as there are none in the vicinity of where the fire took place.
