PHOTOS: GLOW event returns to Science Museum of Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A glow-in-the-dark event returned to the Science Museum of Virginia this weekend, offering participants several illuminating and educational opportunities. The GLOW event took place at the Science Museum of Virginia on Saturday, Feb 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., featuring a black light room with glowing bubbles, glowing drinks and more. It also featured laser and astronomy shows happening all day. 8News had the chance to speak with Jennifer Guild, the communications director at the Science Museum of Virginia, about what an event like this can provide from an educational standpoint. "GLOW is an opportunity for us to just continue to remind people that science is all around them," Guild said. "So from the glow drinks that they could make at home if they wanted to try it to some of the fun activities that we have planned, it's a great reminder that science is everywhere and GLOW is just another way that we get to highlight that for our guests.''
