Richmond Public Schools to offer free summer meals for children

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond Public Schools (RPS) recently announced they will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program, offering children free meals starting in June.
This program allows RPS to provide free meals to children on a first-come, first-served basis in June and July.
The following locations will offer free meals to children from June 9 to July 10:
- Miles Jones Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Southampton Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Broad Rock Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- G.H. Reid Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Swansboro Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Henry Marsh Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Overby Sheppard Elementary
- Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Lucille Brown Middle
- Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle
- Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
The following locations will offer free meals from June 9 to July 17:
- Richmond Technical Center
- Breakfast: 8:10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Huguenot High School
- Breakfast: 8:10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
RPS said in a release that children must stay on-site while eating the meals.
