Richmond to host contracting partnership symposium for local businesses Monday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Richmond will host a contracting partnership symposium to help local businesses in construction on Monday afternoon.

According to the city, the symposium will highlight how local businesses and the city can enhance their partnership, providing attendees information about networking opportunities and upcoming solicitations and projects, including streetscapes, paving, bridges and traffic improvements.

It will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 17, on the second floor at Main Street Station, located at 1500 East Main Street.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to get an inside look at the forecast of upcoming projects, to be able to ask questions and learn more about how they can contribute to the city’s infrastructure growth,” said Rene Almaraz, Director, Department of Procurement Services. “We’re excited and committed to building stronger partnerships with the Richmond business community.”

The symposium will also allow participants to ask questions and learn more about how they can effectively work together with Richmond.

The Departments of Procurement Services and Public Works experts will share how local businesses can become involved in the city's contracting process.
