The Well Fest: A day of wellness, art and connection in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News was joined by two special guests on Friday to discuss the upcoming The Well Fest -- an event hosted by The Well Collective, featuring live performances, a wellness market and more.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Ashley Williams Hillman, the CEO and founder of The Well Collective, and Breonna Moore, the host of the Conversations Unearthed podcast, as they spoke to the organization's misson.
"The Well Collective's mission is to transform our shared well-being through creating opportunities for individuals to thrive, and so The Well Fest is a culmination of all of that," Hillman said. "It's a gathering of people, of dialogue, of art, of creative connection."
The Well Fest will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Main Street Station, and will feature performances from Sainted Trap Choir. There will also be a wellness market, a public mural, movement classes, healing stations and more.
The money raised through the event will go towards supporting The Well Collective and the educational programs they provide.
On Friday evening, as part of a launch for the festival, The Well Collective will be hosting "Rooted in Richmond," a conversation and podcast that will be moderated by 8News' own Autumn Childress to bring together community leaders to talk about well-being.
"The hope is that people can show up and they can be, they can experience something new and they can take full care of themselves," Hillman said.
