Tornado watch, warning issued for Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Central Virginia, and a tornado watch has been issued for almost all of the region on Sunday.

On Sunday, June 8, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning until 3:15 p.m. on Sunday for the following counties:

  • Richmond County
  • Westmoreland County

A tornado watch was also issued until 10 p.m. for the following Central Virginia localities:

  • Albemarle County
  • Buckingham County
  • Caroline County
  • Charles City County
  • Chesterfield County
  • Charlottesville
  • City of Petersburg
  • City of Richmond
  • Williamsburg
  • Cumberland County
  • Essex County
  • Fluvanna County
  • Gloucester County
  • Goochland County
  • Greene County
  • Hanover County
  • Henrico County
  • King and Queen County
  • Lancaster County
  • Louisa County
  • Middlesex County
  • New Kent County
  • Northumberland County
  • Powhatan County
  • Richmond County
