Tractor-trailer hauling industrial-sized paper overturns on I-95 in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver has been charged after a tractor-trailer carrying six rolls of industrial-sized paper overturned on Interstate 95 South in Richmond Thursday morning. According to Virginia State Police, at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 near 7th Street on I-95, the tractor-trailer overturned. The driver, 33-year-old Savanna Purdue of North Carolina was heading south in the left lane when the load she was hauling shifted, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn. She was on the way back to North Carolina at the time. Purdue has been charged with reckless driving and improper passing. Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, though speed appears to be a factor. No injuries were reported.
