16-year-old boy arrested after 15-year-old shot, killed on Richmond’s Southside
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A 16-year-old boy is facing multiple charges in a shooting on Richmond's Southside that killed a 15-year-old on Sunday.
According to the Richmond Police Department, they have arrested a 16-year-old boy of Richmond in connection with the shooting on Decatur Street over the weekend.
At 6:08 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, officers responded to the intersection of East 11th and Hull streets for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found a 15-year-old boy down and unresponsive in the intersection with apparent gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police determined that the shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Decatur Street. Following his arrest, the 16-year-old was charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
Officials continue to investigate the shooting as a homicide. No further information was immediately available.
