18-year-old man arrested after Chesterfield fire station crashed into, damaged by stolen vehicle
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An 18-year-old man is facing several charges after police said he crashed into a fire station in Chesterfield County multiple times early Sunday morning and damaged the facility.
At around 2:58 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to Chesterfield County Fire Station 7 on 13810 Hull Street Road.
Upon arrival, officers found that a vehicle had crashed into the building and damaged two of its glass bay doors. Police also found the driver inside the fire station.

Per Chesterfield officers, the driver -- 18-year-old Carson Lambert -- had been at a bar in Richmond earlier Saturday evening. When he got to the fire station, he "intentionally rammed the vehicle into two bay doors" and entered the station through the damaged area.
Lambert was detained by a Chesterfield County Fire and EMS employee once he was inside. The employee then contacted Chesterfield Police.
Police said Lambert drove to the fire station in a vehicle that was later determined to have been stolen out of Richmond.
He was taken into custody and charged with felony vandalism, driving under the influence, refusal to provide a breath sample and unauthorized entry to the fire station.
Chesterfield County Fire and EMS said none of the firefighters were hurt, and that the incident would not damage service out of the station. Officials said crews will continue to respond to calls as usual.
"As you drive by Station 7 over the next few days, you may notice the front bay doors are boarded up. They will remain that way until the glass can be repaired. But again, that will not affect our response times or our ability to help you," officials wrote on social media.
Chesterfield Police continue to investigate the incident with the help of Chesterfield County Fire and EMS.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
