23-year-old victim identified in St. James Street shooting
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of the shooting on St. James Street that occurred Monday evening. At approximately 5:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, police were called for a shooting report at the 1000 block of St. James Street in Richmond's Northside. According to Richmond police, when officers arrived on the scene, they found a man unresponsive, lying in the grass between buildings. Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Tony Garrett of Richmond. He died on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The Medical Examiner will establish the exact cause of death.
