39-year-old Richmond man killed in tractor-trailer crash on I-95 South in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 39-year-old Richmond man is dead after a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 95 South in Prince George County on Tuesday.

Virginia State Police said the two-vehicle crash took place at about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, on I-95 at mile marker 47 at the Route 623 exit.

Police said a preliminary investigation shows that a 2010 Mazda MZ3, driven by 39-year-old Echenique Nicholas A. Ozimisa of Richmond, was traveling on I-95 North in the left lane.

His vehicle then ran off the left side of the road, entered the median and crossed over into the southbound lanes, according to police.

The Mazda then hit a tractor-trailer traveling in the right lane of I-95 South.

Ozimisa died from his injuries at the scene. Police said he was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, and investigators are continuing to investigate this crash.
