41-year-old man identified in second deadly shooting in Richmond’s East End

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 41-year-old man was killed in a deadly shooting on North 21st Street in Richmond's East End early Friday morning.

At around 3:25 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, Richmond Police Department officers arrived at the 1600 block of North 21st Street after a reported gunfire alert due to the gunshot detection system.

Once on the scene, they found a man down on the ground in an alleyway next to an apartment building.

The man, now identified as 41-year-old Shannun Nolan, of Richmond, had suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died due to his injuries later that morning.

The Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause and manner of Nolan's death.

Detectives do not believe this shooting is related to the shooting that killed a 56-year-old Richmond woman one block away on Sunday, Jan. 25.
