51-year-old Lancaster man identified as driver killed in Chesterfield truck crash on Route 1
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The driver of a tanker truck who died following a crash along Route 1 in Chesterfield County on Thursday has been identified by police as a 51-year-old Lancaster County man.
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, police identified the driver as 51-year-old Dennis Maiden of Lancaster County.
This comes after officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a crash that occurred in the 5800 block of Route 1 at around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Police said the tanker truck Maiden was driving was leaving a business when it crashed through a fence, crossed the road, and hit a jersey wall.
Maiden was unresponsive and was taken to a local hospital where police said he was pronounced dead.
So far in the investigation, police said it appears Maiden may have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the crash.
