56-year-old identified as victim of deadly Broad Rock Boulevard crash

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 56-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash on Broad Rock Boulevard Sunday night.

Officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 2600 block of Broad Rock Boulevard on Sunday, June 22, at 9:13 p.m. for the report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.

According to police, when officers arrived, they found 56-year-old Oswaldo Garcia Perez injured in the roadway. He was then taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Garcia Perez stayed at the scene and called police, authorities said.

It has been determined by the RPD Crash Team that Garcia Perez was crossing the road in the middle of the block when the vehicle hit him in a travel lane.
