75-year-old man dead after I-85 crash in Mecklenburg

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 75-year-old Bracey man is dead after a crash on Interstate 85 in Mecklenburg County on Wednesday.
Virginia State Police said the crash took place just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, on I-85 South at mile marker 5 in Mecklenburg -- just a mile away from the Route 903 exit.
Police said a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser was heading southbound on I-85 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road, went up an embankment and overturned on its roof.
The driver -- 75-year-old James Skinner of Bracey -- died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
