8News gets a visit from co-founders of WearRVA ahead of fashion show

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News got a visit from the co-founders of WearRVA to discuss the sixth annual charity fashion show happening May 8, at Dover Hall.

Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress were joined by WearRVA co-founders, Taylor Pitera and Amber Kay Pelletier, to discuss the upcoming fashion show, which features local high school girls on a runway for a cause.

"I think the biggest thing that sets us apart is we're body positive," Pelletier said. "We welcome girls of all heights, sizes, diversity -- we want all girls represented."

Pitera said that in the last few years, donations from the show were given to local scholarships, they will be partnering with the Children's Hospital of Richmond, specifically the Virginia Treatment Center for Children with mental and behavioral services.

"This year we have had more sponsors come out than in any previous year, which kind of speaks for itself," Pelletier said, "Get people there, have a great time, empower our girls -- maybe that's the biggest goal."

The event will feature 12 boutiques, with one designer. Boutiques include The S.E.E. Boutique in Midlothian and SWEETEST STITCH in Henrico.
