8News talks with cast member of Kimberly Akimbo musical
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a cast member of the Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo on Wednesday to talk about its upcoming run at the Altria Theater.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Marcus Phillips, who plays the role of Seth Weetis, as he discussed what people can expect.
"Kimberly Akimbo is just a quirky little show about a 16-year-old who struggles with different things than us," Phillips explained. "She ages 4-times faster than all of us, so she looks different than everyone around. She's dealing with her dysfunctional family, possible felony charges, maybe her first crush. It's based in new jersey, we ice skate on stage -- it's a really fun time."
Philips also talked about the character of Seth and his relationship with Kimberly
"I would say he's the first person who actually sees Kim for who she is, not just like this disease ridden person," Phillips said.
Musical fans can catch the show at the Altria Theater from Nov. 4 through Nov. 9. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
