ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 93-year-old Albemarle County woman is dead after she was hit by a car backing out of a parking space on Sunday. Just before 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, first responders were called to Scottsville Center for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, officers and emergency personnel found 93-year-old Noreen Wilbourn of Albemarle with life-threatening injuries. They attempted to save Wilbourn, but she died at the scene. Fluvanna County EMS director charged with sexual battery, assault and battery Investigators learned that Wilbourn arrived at Scottsville Center in the car that hit her as a passenger. According to police, the unidentified driver backed out of the space and hit Wilbourn with the passenger side front door, knocking her down.
