A new hands-on exhibit about motion is now open at the Children’s Museum of Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A new and immersive exhibit that explores the science of motion is now open at the Children's Museum of Richmond.
"From Here to There" is a 1,500 square-foot traveling exhibit that dives into the laws of motion, gravity and friction through hands-on play.
Guests can float a sailboat to see how wind impacts sails, see how wind impacts airplanes, ride a hovercraft and so much more.
Museum officials say the exhibit allows children to learn through play.
"We're inspiring the next generation of engineers and mechanics, pilots -- all the people that make transportation happen," Danielle Ripperton, museum executive director, told 8News. "That can start with a spark that's lit at the Children's Museum right as you're working through the airplane or working on the hot air balloon or through the different types of engines that are out there."
"From Here to There" is open at the museum's downtown Richmond location through Sept. 7, and is included in general admission.
General admission tickets can be found on the Children's Museum of Richmond's website.
