A Playground for Katie and Friends in Chesterfield to temporarily close

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Playground for Katie and Friends will be temporarily closed starting Monday, July 28, according to Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation.

The closure will start Monday and will last through Friday, Aug. 1 to make repairs to the playground's turf mound.

"We know this park is a favorite and crews will work to get the necessary repairs done as soon as possible so fun can be restored," said Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation.

Although this Huguenot Park playground is temporarily closing, there are still several other available playgrounds open:

• Rockwood park -- 3401 Courthouse Rd
• Fernbrook Park -- 9270 Chatham Grove Ln
• Rockwood Nature Center: There is also a playground at Rockwood Park with inclusive equipment
• Harry G. Daniel Park -- 6600 Whitepine Rd
