Boil water advisory issued for Lake Land’Or customers in Caroline

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A boil water advisory has been issued for Lake Land'Or customers in Caroline County, according to Aqua Virginia.

The advisory was officially announced by Aqua Virginia at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and is expected to remain in effect until at least 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

The team is currently working to flush the water system in key areas, which may cause temporary water discoloration or a decrease in water pressure for some customers, particularly when cooking or doing laundry.

Customers are also recommended to remove and clean the aerators of their faucets and flush their water line by running the outside spigot for a few minutes. This will help to clear the lines before the water enters household plumbing.

Aqua is purging the lines to remove sediment and improve the overall water flow, per its website.

Officials urge customers to boil water for one full minute, then allow water to cool before normal use.

Aqua said it will be sending water samples to the lab for testing and will notify customers as soon as the boil water notice is lifted.
