Bring a new pet home at Henrico County Animal Shelter adoption event
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- As the Henrico County Police Animal Shelter nears maximum capacity, an adoption event will be held encouraging people to take a furry friend home.
Animal lovers can visit the shelter, located at 10421 Woodman Road in Glen Allen, on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to find the perfect pet for them, according to a Henrico County release.

The county said that the shelter currently has cats, dogs and even a guinea pig that's looking for a home. Anyone interested in adopting an animal must be 18 years or older, and is required to bring a photo ID.
Several community partners -- including the William D. Harrison Jr. Foundation, Furbish Thrift and Henrico Humane Society -- have sponsored spay and neuter surgeries for the available cats and dogs. Additionally, the adoption fee for a lot of the pets is $10.
