Caroline County addresses community concerns over missing person reports

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Caroline County Sheriff's office addresses community concerns after two missing person investigations were underway, with one involving a runaway.
In a recent Facebook post from the sheriff's office, they expressed that, "we want to provide clarification regarding recent discussions on social media about missing persons in Caroline County and the Town of Bowling Green."
The message comes after growing public concerns via social media on missing person reports out of Virginia during Summer 2025.
The first missing persons case involved a "juvenile runaway," who according to the Caroline County sheriff's office, "at the request of the family, and to protect the integrity of the investigation, we did not release any details publicly about this investigation."
Deputies said that with help from Prince George’s County and Maryland Police Department the juvenile has been found safe and returned to her family.
The second reported missing person involves missing 22-year-old Lorynn Williams, out of Richmond who at the time of the reporting "may be in danger."
According to county sheriff's, Williams was believed to be both living and last seen in Richmond when she was reported missing.
"A family member residing in Bowling Green filed the report after not being able to reach her for an unusual length of time."
Although the Bowling Green Police Department does not typically operate in Richmond, and that Williams did not go missing in Bowling Green, the department said, it is still investigating this case and "continues to work closely with the Virginia State Police and other agencies in their efforts to locate her."
