Caroline County Sheriff’s Office shares safety tips ahead of expected storm
CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Ahead of Monday's expected storm, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office has shared safety tips for the community.
In the morning on Sunday, March 14, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office advised on social media that residents should take the following steps ahead of an expected storm:
- Secure loose items, like trash cans, patio furniture and decorations
- Charge cell phones and electronic devices in case of power outages
- Stay aware of the weather by monitoring trusted weather sources and enabling emergency alerts on your devices
- Be cautious when traveling during storms
During a storm, the sheriff's office said residents should:
- Avoid driving through flooded roads
- Be alert for possible downed trees or power lines
- Report emergencies by calling 911
The sheriff's office said it will continue to monitor the expected storm and share updates if necessary.
