Charged Up Fest returns to Richmond to celebrate local artists
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest on Friday to talk about the upcoming Charged Up Fest and its mission to uplift local creatives.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Noah-O, the founder of Charged Up Fest, as he discussed what people can expect.
"Charged Up Fest encompasses everything from an awards show where we're going to honor people making change in the community, we're doing a panel on mental health in hip-hop, along with some music showcases, and it ends the last day with my birthday concert at The Broadberry," he said.
The fest starts on Tuesday, May 27, and it will last until Sunday, June 1, with planned events like panel discussions, award ceremonies, a community bike ride, concerts and more -- all at several different locations throughout Richmond.
As a result of sponsorships with local businesses and organizations, most of the events are free to attend, but people are encouraged to RSVP.
