Chesterfield County to hold 3rd annual Earth Day Festival in April

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Join Chesterfield County as they celebrate the third annual Earth Day Festival in April.

The family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, April 12 at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds from noon to 4 p.m., and is free for all attendees.

There will be several outdoor activities for eventgoers to take part in, including ways to learn how to be more environmentally friendly in Chesterfield County.

Festivities for the event will include Touch-a-Truck for kids of all ages, a play zone, food trucks, recycling vendors and more.

The event will also feature live demonstrations about ways residents can help the environment from Chesterfield Cooperative Extension, Rockwood Nature Center and other county departments.

Some of the demonstrations at the event will include:

  • Water quality, stormwater, pollution prevention and rain barrel
  • Waste reduction, recycling and composting
  • Adopt-A-Spot, community cleanups and anti-litter programs
