Chesterfield man facing sex offense charges after Colonial Heights Dollar Tree incident
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A 37-year-old Chesterfield County man is facing multiple sex offense charges after an incident at a Colonial Heights Dollar Tree on Monday.
At about 3:25 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department responded to the Dollar Tree, located in the 1500 block of Boulevard, for a report of a sex offense.
When officers arrived, they found a man had approached a woman and discharged bodily fluid onto her clothing.
He then ran away before police arrived.
On Wednesday, Nov. 26, detectives obtained a photo of the suspect and a description of the vehicle he was believed to be driving.
A detective saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of E. Ellerslie Avenue.
Police identified the driver as 37-year-old Corenardo Ferrentez Chapman of Chesterfield County, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Chapman is charged with felony aggravated sexual battery, misdemeanor indecent exposure and misdemeanor obscene sexual display.
He was taken to Riverside Regional Jail, where he was being held without bond pending his next appearance in Colonial Heights General District Court.
