Chesterfield mobile home destroyed, cat missing after large fire
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Chesterfield County resident is without a home and their cat is unaccounted for after a large fire destroyed their mobile home Wednesday afternoon. At 2:19 p.m. on Oct. 16, firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded to the 800 block of West Harbour Drive for a reported house fire. The fire was put out within half an hour, according to fire officials. The homeowner, who was in the home at the time of the fire, was able to get out safely -- but the severe damage to the structure has displaced them. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
