Chesterfield Police investigating after two people found dead

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield Police are conducting an investigation after two people were found dead at a residence on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 12:11 p.m., Chesterfield County Police responded to the 3000 block of Waddington Drive for a report of "two unresponsive individuals."

According to police, when officers arrived they found both victims, a man and woman, with gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

As of the time of reporting, police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community. The victim's identities are being withheld "pending the notification of the next of kin."
