Chesterfield’s Snowball Festival rescheduled due to forecasted inclement weather

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County's Snowball Festival has been rescheduled to take place on Sunday due to forecasted inclement weather.

According to a county spokesperson, the Snowball Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9 at the River City Sportsplex, located at 13030 Genito Road.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday -- however, officials said it was rescheduled to take place on Sunday due to forecasted inclement weather.

The county said the Snowball Festival will feature activities, music and food to help children of all ages celebrate winter with family and friends.

There will be a synthetic ice rink and winter-themed inflatables at the event. Skates will be available in sizes 8 youth to 13 adult, or attendees can bring their own skates.

Admission to the event, activities and skate rental are free, according to the county, with food and drinks available to purchase from several vendors.
