CODI Alert: Missing 14-year-old boy last seen leaving Henrico high school may be in danger

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A missing 14-year-old boy last seen leaving a Henrico County high school on Wednesday may be in danger.

The afternoon of Thursday, March 19, the Henrico County Police Division issued a missing juvenile alert for 14-year-old Gerard Dakouo, who went missing the day prior.

Later Thursday evening, Virginia State Police issued a CODI Alert for Dakouo. This kind of alert means that, while abduction is not suspected, a child's disappearance is still believed to pose a credible threat to their health and safety.

Dakouo was last seen leaving Highland Springs High School at about 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. He was on foot and headed in an unknown direction.

Dakouo, pictured above, is described as a Black teenager with black hair. He is about 5-foot-1-inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds, police said.

He was last seen wearing a black hat, a red hooded sweatshirt and either navy blue or black pants. He was also carrying a grey or black Adidas backpack.
