Cultural Heritage Series in Honor of Black History Month at Williamsburg Regional Library

Celebrate Black History Month with the 2026 Cultural Heritage Series: two-hour-long programs that honor Black heritage in the creative arts. Enjoy powerful performances, meet the artists, and stay for refreshments after each presentation. Programs are free, open to the public, and no reservations are required. These performances will be held on Sundays, from 3 PM to 5 pm.
On Feb. 15, beloved Tidewater musicians, Mrs. Iris Jimmerson & Mrs. Mildred Walker — Two Music Sheroes, will perform. Guests are invited to present flowers or cards at the conclusion of the program. This event is sponsored by Iota Phi Theta Fraternity (Richmond) and Corey’s Southern Catering (Williamsburg).
On Feb. 22, Maestro Reginald Fox will lead the Historic First Baptist Church Concert Choir in presenting a rich repertoire of hymns, spirituals, gospel, contemporary works, and classical compositions. This concert is in collaboration with the York River Symphony Orchestra.
