Driver gets stuck on Richmond train tracks, causing crash
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver got stuck on Richmond railroad tracks late Tuesday night, resulting in a crash.
Just before 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to a railroad crossing near the intersection of Broad Rock and Belt boulevards for report of a possible train derailment.
When they arrived, officers found that a train had hit a car stopped on the railroad tracks.
A police spokesperson told 8News that the man driving the car reportedly was trying to make a U-turn when he got stuck on the tracks. He was able to get out of his vehicle before the crash took place and had only minor injuries.
