Driver in hospital after crash, vehicle overturns on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver is in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County on Sunday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 16700 block of Midlothian Turnpike for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injury.

According to a police spokesperson, a vehicle overturned following a two-vehicle crash on Midlothian Turnpike.

The spokesperson said one driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the other driver was treated on scene.

All lanes of Midlothian Turnpike West were shut down for about an hour, but have since reopened as of 11:30 a.m., per the Virginia Department of Transportation.
